Abundant Life: Lessons of the Christian Life 3 - Holy Spirit Baptism
Hi, kids! Did you know Jesus came to earth to give us an abundant life? Here’s what He said about His followers in John 10:10… “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, what does that mean? How do we get to do this? What will it look like in our lives? When we receive His gift of salvation, our lives will change, and there should be differences that others around us can notice! We’ll be taking a few weeks to talk about some of the foundational aspects of the Christian life that can help you live abundantly!
Lesson 3: Holy Spirit Baptism
A good life is something that everyone wants to live! Jesus said that He can give us a good life, He called it an abundant life, which means life-to-the-full. He said we can have that if we believe in Him. Last time we learned that a big part of an abundant life is to show the world that we have decided to follow Jesus through water baptism. This time we’re going to look at a different kind of baptism – and one that might sound just a little bit funny.
Today’s Bible Story: Peter and Cornelius
There was a Roman centurion named Cornelius. Cornelius was different than other Romans because he believed in God. He even prayed and gave regular offerings to him. One day he had a vision of an angel who told him to send for a man named Simon Peter. So, Cornelius did. Here’s a Bible Story video about that encounter:
