Abundant Life: Lessons of the Christian Life 2 - Water Baptism
Hi, kids! Did you know Jesus came to earth to give us an abundant life? Here’s what He said about His followers in John 10:10… “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, what does that mean? How do we get to do this? What will it look like in our lives? When we receive His gift of salvation, our lives will change, and there should be differences that others around us can notice! We’ll be taking a few weeks to talk about some of the foundational aspects of the Christian life that can help you live abundantly!
Lesson 2: Water Baptism
A good life is something that everyone wants to live! Jesus said that He can give us a good life, He called it an abundant life, which means life-to-the-full. He said we can have that if we believe in Him. Last time we learned that an abundant life begins with knowing that Jesus died on the cross and He rose again. After we believe in Jesus, our next step is to show the world that we have decided to follow Jesus. We do that through getting baptized. In the Bible there was a man who believed in Jesus and wanted to get baptized right away!
Today’s Bible Story: Philip and the Ethiopian
Philip was preaching in Jerusalem. An angel appeared to him and told him to take the road to Gaza. Philip obeyed. He approached a chariot carrying an Ethiopian official who was reading from the scroll of Isaiah, but he didn’t understand it. Here’s a Bible Story video about that encounter:
