Hi God, Let's Talk! Lesson 5/8 - Prayer of Repentance

Hey, kids! Have you ever wanted to talk to God? Guess what! You can! And it's as simple as picking up the phone and calling your best friend. In this series, we're going to look at all the different ways we can pray! You might have heard some of these words before -- words like intercession, repentance, and thanksgiving. There are all words that describe prayer, and prayer is simply talking and listening to God.

Lesson 5 - Prayer of Repentance

How do we tell God we want to change? We use the Prayer of Repentance. Zacchaeus was a tax collector and also a very short man. When he heard Jesus was coming to town, the crowds were so big that Zacchaeus had to climb a sycamore tree just so he would be able to see Jesus. Jesus passed under the tree, called out to Zacchaeus and told him He was coming over to his house. Zacchaeus realized he was a sinner, and received forgiveness from Jesus. He promised to pay back anyone four times for any taxes he had wrongly taken from them. That's repentance!
