Abundant Life: Lessons of the Christian Life 1 - Salvation
Hi, kids! Did you know Jesus came to earth to give us an abundant life? Here’s what He said about His followers in John 10:10… “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, what does that mean? How do we get to do this? What will it look like in our lives? When we receive His gift of salvation, our lives will change, and there should be differences that others around us can notice! We’ll be taking a few weeks to talk about some of the foundational aspects of the Christian life that can help you live abundantly!
Lesson 1: Being Born Again
A good life is something that everyone wants to live! Jesus said that He can give us a good life, He called it an abundant life, which means life-to-the-full. He said we can have that if we believe in Him. So, an abundant life begins with knowing that Jesus died on the cross and He rose again. Romans 10:9 says, “If we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe with our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved.” So the first step to beginning your abundant life is just that! It’s believing with your heart and speaking with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord of your life.
Today’s Bible Story: Nicodemus
Jesus talked to Nicodemus all about being born again. It’s in their conversation that Jesus gives us the most well known verse of the whole Bible: John 3:16. Here’s a Bible Story video about that encounter:
