New Beginnings! (Happy New Year!)
With a new year comes new beginnings! new opportunities! new things to learn!
God is into new beginnings, too. He is always eager to show us a new part of His great love for us and to have that change how we live every day!
With a new year, we can decide to do something different… lots of people call this a “new year’s resolution” which just means we choose to make a new goal or habit, like exercising more or eating less candy, or maybe learn a new language or skill. The most effective thing to change is trying to become more like Jesus! That might mean to read your Bible or pray more, or choose to be more kind and loving to people around you.
Did you know there is someone in the Bible who made a New Year’s resolution? Well, it probably wasn’t New Year’s, but he made a choice to be different. It’s the prodigal son. He “came to his senses” while he was taking care of the pigs, and decided to go back to his father and his ways. And that one choice changed his life forever.
