GVC Encounter Kids - Grad Tribute and the Great Commission

What is a graduation? Why do we have graduation ceremonies? Well, a graduation is a finishing of one level. You might never need to finish another level, or you may go on to graduate from more and more levels that each teach you different skills. A graduation ceremony is a way to recognize someone has finished a level, and to cheer for them and the great job they did.

There isn't exactly a graduation ceremony outlined in the Bible, but when Jesus was ready to return to heaven, He did commission His disciples. He had trained them for three years, and He knew they were ready to "go and do likewise" with everything He had taught them! We call this the Great Commission, and it is for us today as much as it was for Jesus’ disciples in Bible times:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15. The gospel is simply the Good News that Jesus loves everyone, and has made it possible for everyone to be with Him forever, if they only receive His forgiveness for their sin. That’s great news!
